Mission Statement
The mission of the Colorado Karting Tour, is to provide interested kart racers (youngsters and their families) with a fun, organized and educational opportunity to participate in the exciting sport of karting. By doing so, the Colorado Karting Tour will enhance the racing experience, shorten the karting learning curve and produce an environment of camaraderie, healthy competition and sportsmanship.
Our Origins
The Colorado Karting Tour was formed nineteen years ago as the Colorado Junior Karting Club, during a time where karters and track owners shared differences about how the sport should move forward. In response, a group of dedicated, passionate karters stepped forward to create an independent, community‑focused series that could provide consistency, fairness, and a welcoming environment for racers and families across the state.
While ownership and circumstances at local tracks have changed over the years, the purpose behind CKT’s creation remains the same: Colorado benefits from having a nonprofit karting organization whose decisions are guided by the long‑term health of the sport and the needs of the community.
Our beginnings reflect the values we still hold today—service, stability, and a commitment to ensuring every racer has a place to compete that is built on respect, accessibility, and community support.
Who We Are at CKT
In 2014, our club merged with the Pikes Peak Kart Racing Club to form the Colorado Karting Tour, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Today, we remain Colorado’s only nonprofit karting organization, built and operated entirely by volunteers.
Our team does this for one reason: a genuine love for the sport and the community around it. No one here is earning a paycheck, growing a business, or paying a mortgage through CKT. Every dollar we receive is reinvested directly into safety, youth development, equipment, and keeping karting accessible for families across Colorado.
We proudly support our local teams, tracks, shops, and programs—but every decision we make is guided by what’s best for all karters and the long‑term health of the sport. We’re no strangers to making tough calls, and when we do, they’re made for the good of the community—not for special interests or individual gain.
That volunteer spirit is what makes CKT special—and it’s why we’re committed to preserving a positive, community‑focused environment for every racer who joins us.
What We Do
The Colorado Karting Tour provides a structured, community‑focused racing program designed to make karting accessible, safe, and rewarding for racers of all ages and experience levels. As Colorado’s only nonprofit karting organization, our work centers on strengthening the sport—not commercial interests.

Accessible Entry Into Motorsports
- Keeping costs low and reinvesting all revenue to ensure karting remains an attainable, family‑friendly entry point into motorsports.
Our Vision
Our vision is a thriving, unified karting community where every racer—young or experienced—has a safe, fair, and welcoming place to compete. We strive to preserve the spirit of grassroots motorsports by keeping karting accessible, community‑driven, and focused on long‑term growth rather than short‑term gain.
We envision a future where:
- Families can enter the sport without financial barriers
- Youth racers develop skills, confidence, and character through competition
- Tracks, teams, and shops work together to strengthen the sport statewide
- Volunteers feel supported, respected, and empowered to lead
- Colorado remains a home for fair, ethical, community‑centered karting
Above all, our vision is to ensure that karting in Colorado continues to be built on respect, accessibility, and a shared love for the sport—today and for generations to come.
How We Lead
For nineteen years, the Colorado Karting Tour has been powered by passionate, selfless volunteers and dedicated board members whose commitment makes our community special. We hold ourselves to the highest ethical and moral standards – fairness, transparency, respect, and accountability – ensuring every decision supports our racers, their families, and the future of our sport. Thank you to everyone who has stepped up, served, and helped guide this organization. Your leadership makes all the difference.
Why Your Participation Matters
Colorado karters have more choices than ever, and we respect every racer’s right to decide where they compete. Healthy differences of opinion are part of any passionate community, and we know we won’t always agree on every decision or direction. What matters most is how we treat one another through those differences. We can debate, discuss, and advocate for what we believe in—but personal attacks and targeting individuals have no place in a community built on respect. They don’t move the sport forward, and they don’t reflect the values we stand for.
In times like these, it’s important for our community to stay grounded in respect and integrity. We ask everyone to take notice of how we treat one another—especially when conversations become difficult. Criticism and differing viewpoints are healthy, but efforts to undermine individuals or the organization only make it harder for volunteers to stand up for what they believe is right. Our community is strongest when we support one another, even through disagreement, and when we choose to elevate the sport rather than tear people down.
Social media makes this even more important. It’s easy for frustration to turn into personal attacks, and for unverified information to spread quickly. Online comments can have real‑world consequences for volunteers who are simply trying to serve the community. We encourage everyone to pause, verify, and approach discussions with the same sportsmanship we expect on track.
As Colorado’s only nonprofit karting organization, CKT exists solely to serve the sport—not to grow a business or protect a financial interest. Every dollar goes back into safety, youth development, equipment, and keeping karting accessible for families across the state. That model only works when the community believes in it.
When racers choose to compete elsewhere, we respect that choice. At the same time, it’s important to be transparent: sustained declines in participation directly impact our ability to operate. Volunteer‑run, nonprofit organizations like CKT survive only when the community stands behind them.
Your participation doesn’t just fill a grid—it keeps a nonprofit, community‑focused racing program alive. It ensures that Colorado continues to have a place where fairness, accessibility, and respect come first. And it helps preserve a karting environment where every racer, team, track, and shop is valued, even when we don’t all see eye‑to‑eye.
Together, we can keep Colorado karting strong.
